Blog post #10

Do you believe that schools should combine both special education and general education students in the same classroom? If so, how would teachers, parents and students figure out how to provide both support and academic challenge to kids with special needs? What strategies for all students would need to be put in place? Should special education and general education merge? What are your honest thoughts about this topic? Why do you feel this way?

I do not think schools should combine special education and general education students in the same classroom because the class would have trouble moving on with the special education children, and would sometimes not even understand what the teacher is trying to teach/tell them. Most would realistically fail and not move on, so I think it is better if they get their own special education so they can move and learn at their own pace.

working with the special

We have recently worked with children who have disabilities. It was lots of fun being able to play catch with them on the field during their P.E period. This experience has opened my eyes to see how everyone is special in their own way. I hope we have another chance to do this again.
